Funeral Service for Betty Jane Hampton, 76 of Poteau, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 29, 2023 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau, Oklahoma with Jim Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Monroe Cemetery in Monroe, Oklahoma under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, Oklahoma.
Betty was born on November 9, 1946 in Howe, Oklahoma to Georgia Ann (Oliver) Drury and Manuel Richard Drury and passed away on September 26, 2023 in Poteau, Oklahoma. She was married to Durwin Hampton on November 19, 1966 in Howe, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lynn Drury; sisters, Jean Kunkel, and Deredia Vanbeber. Betty worked at DHS for 20 years. She was of Assembly of God Faith, and loved playing the piano. Spending time with her grandchildren and her dogs.
Survivors include her husband, Durwin Hampton; son, Trent Hampton and wife Tammy; two brothers, Don Drury and wife Sondra, Art Drury and wife Stella; grandchildren, Sydney White and husband Cody, and Seth Hampton; sister in law, Kay Drury.
Pallbearers will be Seth Hampton, John Drury, Tony Drury, Ed Drury, Larry Kunkel, and Cody White.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
