Billy Dean McDonald, 83, of Spiro, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 27, 1941, in Charleston, Arkansas, to Grace (Smith) McDonald and Sirene W. McDonald, Billy lived a life filled with love, hard work, and dedication to his family and faith.

Funeral services to honor and celebrate Billy’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Spiro, Oklahoma, officiated by Brother Larry Harris. He will be laid to rest at Short Mountain Cemetery in Cowlington, Oklahoma, under the compassionate care of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home. Viewing will be on Thursday January 16, 2025 from 9am – 8pm with family greeting friends from 6pm – 8pm at the funeral home.

Billy was married to the love of his life, Patricia Ann McDonald, who preceded him in death on July 7, 2015. Together, they built a beautiful family, and Billy cherished every moment spent with them. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his son, Anthony Dean McDonald; and his great-grandson, Colt McDonald.

A man of deep faith and simple joys, Billy was a proud member of the Baptist faith. He found happiness riding his tractor, tending to his cattle, and cultivating his garden. His loyal dog, Harry, held a special place in his heart, as did his beloved grandchildren, who fondly called him “Pa.”

Billy leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories through his family son: Doyle McDonald and wife Cindy, daughter: Gloria Schoeppe, grandchildren: Ashley Turner and husband Tinker, Stephanie McDonald, Josh McDonald and wife Debra, Sabra McDonald, and Sarah Schoeppe, great-grandchildren: Tuff, Kypton, Lane, Nevada, Kadence, Baker, Oaklee, and Kase, siblings: twin brother Bob McDonald, Earl McDonald, Eva Lovell, and Janelle Capehart, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.

Pallbearers will include Billy McElyea, Harold McElyea, Lance Perdue, Tinker Turner, Ty Peters, Tillis Deshazo, Tuff Ball,  Kypton McDonald, and Lane McDonald. Honorary pallbearers will be Baker Peters and Kase McDonald.
