Bobby Joe Irvin of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma (formerly of Poteau, Oklahoma) was born August 7, 1939, in Poteau, Oklahoma to Willie Ray and Hazel Pauline (Crenshaw) Irvin and passed away on November 22, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 86.

Numerous other loved ones and a host of friends

 

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Ray and Hazel Pauline Irvin; one brother, Donald Ray Irvin; and a sister, Janetta Sue Burlew.

 

Bobby was a longtime resident of the area and was a retired teacher and coach. He was a devout member of South Broken Arrow Baptist Church. Bobby was a quiet, kind, and very loving man. His absence will leave a significant void in the lives of all who knew him. Bobby loved watching college sports, especially OU and he attended the Broken Arrow Senior Activities Center. He valued time spent with family and friends. Bobby will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Bobby’s funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the Dowden-Roberts Funeral & Cremation Center Chapel in Poteau, Oklahoma with Pastor Kelly Chronister officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery under the care of Dowden-Roberts Funeral & Cremation Center of Poteau, Oklahoma.

The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Dowden-Roberts Funeral & Cremation Center Chapel in Poteau, Oklahoma.
