Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro, Oklahoma, with Reverend Sid Ree officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas, under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro, Oklahoma.
Viewing and visitation will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the family greeting friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Bonnie was born on October 9, 1938, in Keota, Oklahoma, to Mittie Lee (Davis) Shoopman and J.C. Shoopman. She married Joe Saulsberry on February 18, 1955, in Greenwood, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on August 24, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Michael Shoopman.
Bonnie was a woman of many talents and passions. She loved music and reading and expressed her creativity through art, working with both oils and pencil. She even had a song published in Europe. Bonnie was also a dedicated businesswoman, serving as co-owner of Phoenix Jewelry for 34 years and later owning The Treasure Chest in Spiro for many years. She took great pride in her work and in serving her community. Above all, she adored her family and cherished every moment spent with them.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Barnes and husband Ronnie; her son, Junior Saulsberry and wife Sandra; her grandchildren, Travis Saulsberry and wife Kayla, B.J. Barnes and wife Raina, Austin Brunk and wife Kayla, and Holly Hill and husband Monte; her great-grandchildren, Kara Bickerton and husband Alex, Trenton Greene and wife Kelsey, Alyssa Saulsberry and fiancé Rylan Cooper, Brylyn Saulsberry, Dalton Saulsberry, Wrynlee Saulsberry, Kyrah Barnes, Lia Barnes, Logan Barnes, Candance Hill, Clara Jane Hill, Hub Brunk, Adeline Brunk, Wyatt West, Layna West, and Jett West; her great-great-grandchildren, Sophie, Jackson, and Xyla; her sister, Margaret Ridenour; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
