Brenda Kay Thompson, 56, passed away on August 24, 2025, in Fort Smith, Arkansas with her family at her side, holding her hand. Brenda was born on April 13, 1969, in Poteau, Oklahoma to her parents Willis and Ruby Velma Thompson. Brenda loved to color all kinds of pictures and look through picture books, but most of all loved anything blingy or leopard print.
Preceded in death by her parents Willis Thompson Sr. and Ruby Velma Thompson.
Brenda is survived by one sister, Betty Thompson of Wister, Oklahoma, her brothers, JR Thompson of Poteau, Oklahoma and JW Thompson of Pocola, Oklahoma, her niece, Krystal Johnson of Poteau, Oklahoma, her nephews, Justin Paul and wife Bailey of Howe, Oklahoma and John Thompson and wife Shyann of Heavener, Oklahoma, her great nieces and nephews, Braxton, Lexis, Justin, Lucas and Lila, along with many other relatives and loved ones.
The Celebration of Life Services for Brenda will be held 1pm – 3pm on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at The Cedars on Dewey
522 Dewey Ave. Poteau, Oklahoma. Burial will be in the Thompson Family plots at Ellis Chapel Cemetery in Wister, Oklahoma.
