Cassandra Leigh Melton, 44, passed away on December 25, 2025, in Fort Smith, Arkansas with her family at her side. Cassandra was born on September 10, 1981, in Talihina, Oklahoma. Cassandra was a huge Kansas City Chiefs fan and loved watching football. She was an avid music lover and always made time to love on all her cats. But most of all, Cassandra loved spending time with her children and her family.
Cassandra is survived by her children Lorenzo Cervantes and Annalise Mendez both of Poteau, Oklahoma, her mother Judy Melton of Poteau, Oklahoma, her brother Marcus Melton and wife Karie of Waldron, Arkansas, her sister Kendra Melton and spouse Marinbarco of Poteau, Oklahoma, her special sister Tracy Davis of Palestine, Texas along with many other relatives and loved ones.
The Celebration of Life Graveside Services for Cassandra will be held 11am – December 31, 2025, at Oakland Pavilion in Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, Oklahoma with Pastor Moses Johnson officiating and burial to follow. The Family of Cassandra Melton will greet friends from 6pm – 8pm on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at The Cedars on Dewey 520 Dewey Ave Poteau, Oklahoma. Casket bearers will be Marin Barco, Marcus Melton, Mason Melton, Myron Melton, Marion Melton, Emmanuel Olivares, Jaelyn Olivares, and Isabel Melton.
