Memorial Service for Charles C. Rhodes, 84 of Fort Smith, Arkansas formerly of Spiro and Tulsa, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2024, at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro, Oklahoma with Minister Bruce Flippo officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro, Oklahoma under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.

Charles Columbus Rhodes was born on June 2, 1940, in Spiro, Oklahoma to Ruth (Davis) and Walter Rhodes, and passed away on June 3, 2024, in Van Buren, Arkansas. He was married to Phyllis Kay (Hanna) Rhodes on July 17, 1965, in Spiro, Oklahoma. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Beth Robinson, and Carrie Sebo; and brothers, Kenneth Rhodes and John Rhodes.

Charles is survived by his wife, Phyllis; son, Chris C. Rhodes; grandchildren, Kenna and Ella Rhodes; brother, Paul Rhodes; and sister-in-law Claudia Rhodes.

Charles served on the west coast in the United States Army maintaining radar guided anti-aircraft equipment, and worked for several manufacturing and engineering companies, including Tesco Engineering, Rockwell International, McDonnell Douglas, and Irby.

Charles enjoyed reading, sports, music, cars, and gardening. His vast encyclopedic knowledge on a wide range of topics always ensured something interesting to talk about. He often liked to tell stories about music and music history, along with cheering on his favorite football teams. However, his favorite thing in life was spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters Kenna and Ella.
