Charles Dean Johnston of Conser, Oklahoma was born April 10, 1933 in Conser, Oklahoma to Eugene and Lou (Turner) Johnston and went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 13, 2018 in Heavener, Oklahoma at the age of 85.

Jennifer Johnston of Lewisville, Texas
Eleven great-grandchildren:
Garrett and Lexi Ward; Madision, MaKayla, Maci, and Mason Standifer; Ava Johnston; Sammy and Illiana Lewallen; and Jordin and Rylee Johnston

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Lou Johnston.
Charles was a life-long member of the Hodgen Methodist Church.
He was a 1951 graduate of Heavener High School, a 50 year plus member of Heavener Masonic Lodge #154, and a member of McAlester Scottish Rite.
Charles was employed by Spartan Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas, American Airlines in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and with the U.S. Forrest Service for a short period of time.
He retired from the KCS Railroad as a Switchman and Engineer. Charles was a serious hunter and fisherman. He taught many young people to hunt and fish through the years.
He was a rancher who loved working cattle and hated baling hay. Charles always said, “You can’t do one without the other”.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Hodgen, Oklahoma with Reverend Charles Caughern and Reverend Lisa Leigh Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Heavener Memorial Park with Masonic Rites under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be: Robert Johnston, Jason Johnston, Richard Johnston, Jerimiah Johnston, Aaron Ward, and Michael Standifer.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests Gideon Bibles be donated in honor of Charles.
Viewing will be from noon until 8:00 p.m., Thursday and 8:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday.
The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
