In Loving Memory of Cheryl Cain Boggs
October 1, 1961 – October 31, 2026
On Saturday, October 31, 2026, Cheryl Cain Boggs of Poteau, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by love and with her partner, Steve Adams, by her side.
Born on October 1, 1961, Cheryl lived a life defined by warmth, dedication, and an open door. Throughout her career, she worked hard at Baldor, served her community as a dispatcher for the Heavener Police Department, and spent many joyful seasons as a volunteer park attendant at Cedar Lake. But Cheryl’s true passion was always her family and the great outdoors. She loved nothing more than camping with her dogs at Cedar Lake, hunting, gardening, tending to her livestock, traveling at every opportunity, and being “MoMo” to her grandchildren.
Cheryl had a rare gift for caretaking. Her heart was big enough to adopt and love almost every “kiddo” who walked into her life. With her quick wit and a radiant smile that could brighten the darkest room, she was a steadfast foundation—the person everyone knew they could trust and count on without fail.
Cheryl was reunited in peace with her joyful son, Jodie Wayne Files; her loving father, J.B. Cain; her devoted husband, Kenny Boggs; and her nurturing bonus mother, “Momma Betty” Adams.
Her love and memory will forever be carried by her partner, Steve Adams; her mother, Doris Cain; her daughter, Sarah Burgett and husband Travis; her aunt, Pat Bollinger; her cousin Kathy Robertson and husband Ronnie with their children Kolt Robertson and LaRissa Lundry; her stepson, John Boggs; her stepdaughter, Jennifer Gates and husband Richard; and her bonus sons, Steven Adams, Bobby Adams and wife Rachel. She leaves a legacy of devotion to her cherished grandchildren: Gracyn and Lillie Burgett; Hannah Hull and Trey Boggs; Jena Moore, Dillon Gates, and Kaylee Reed; and Trace and Avery Adams; as well as her great-grandchildren, Matthew Gates and Remington Gates, alongside a lifetime of extended family and special friends who were blessed to know her.
The Celebration of Life for Cheryl Ann Boggs will be at 1 pm, Thursday, November 5, 2026, Graveside in Mt. View Cemetery Hackett, Arkansas with Steve Adams officiating. The family of Cheryl will greet friend 5 -7 pm, Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at The Cedars on Dewey 520 Dewey Avenue Poteau, Oklahoma 74953.
