Clarence William “C.W.” Kirby of Heavener, Oklahoma was born November 17, 1928 in DeQueen, Arkansas to Clarence and Fannie (Herring) Kirby and passed away June 28, 2018 in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the age of 89.

Donna McKenzie and husband Bryan of Hays, Kansas
Ronda Peck and husband Fred of Heavener, Oklahoma

Nine grandchildren:
Jedd Kirby and wife Whitney, Caleb Kirby and wife Tiffaney, Katelyn McGee and husband Scott, Kirby Haynes and wife Leila, Allie Craig and husband Chad, Case Haynes and wife Tori, Alex McKenzie and wife Teagan, Cooper Haynes, and Sarah McKenzie

11 great-grandchildren:
Kaydence, Gage, Chet, Kenley, Kennedy, Daxton, Kipp, Jack, Reid, Ezra, and Sutton

Numerous loved ones and friends

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Fannie Kirby; his first wife and mother of his children, Dorothy Kirby; and one sister, Elsie Mae Bollinger. C.W. was a long-time resident of the area, a member of the Heavener First Baptist Church, a 1948 graduate of Heavener High School, and a rancher.

 

He retired from the United States Air Force after serving his country for 24 years.

 

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. C.W. was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

 

He will be deeply missed by many whom loved and knew him.

 

Graveside service will be 12 noon, Monday, July 2, 2018 at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas with Brother John Glinski officiating.

 

Burial will follow in U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas with the United States Air Force Honor Guard Team under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.

 

Viewing will be from noon until 8:00 p.m., Saturday and 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday
