Commie Lee Jarick of Pocola, Oklahoma was born March 19, 1947 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Commie Rex and Marcheita Lee (Kennedy) Shilling and passed away July 3, 2026 in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the age of 79.

 

She is survived by:

 

One daughter:

Denise Zaragoza of Bokoshe, Oklahoma

 

Two sons:

Jessie Hobbs and wife Sandy of Prairie Grove, Arkansas

Chad Jarick and wife Erin of Fort Smith, Arkansas

 

One sister:

Jo Nita Bintz of Silver City, New Mexico

 

One brother:

Dennis Shilling of Stigler, Oklahoma

 

Two grandchildren:

Ashley Clark of Sallisaw, Oklahoma

August Zaragoza of Muldrow, Oklahoma

 

Her great-grandchild:

Jarick Clark

 

Numerous nieces, nephews, other loved ones, extended family members, and a host of friends who she considered to be family.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffrey Noel Jarick; her parents, Commie Rex and Marcheita Shilling; and one sister, Rita Evans.

 

Commie, a cherished resident of Pocola, dedicated her life to nurturing her home and loved ones. An avid gardener and antique collector, she found joy in the beauty of the outdoors. Above all, Commie treasured her time spent with family and friends, embodying the roles of a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Her warmth and kindness left an imprint on the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Commie will be profoundly missed.
