David J. McNair, 100, of Poteau, OK passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021 in Poteau. David was born in Bauxite, AR to D.J. & Mattie (Gracey) McNair on September 18, 1921. He was a veteran of WWII serving as a medic in the US Navy. He was an auto mechanic and retired from Sears Roebuck Co. He played harmonica and played in a band at the Poteau Adult Center. David belonged to the First United Methodist Church in Poteau where he also played harmonica on occasion. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gertrude McNair; and daughter, Mary Kate Fox.
He is survived by nieces, Joyce McBride & husband Brad of Jadwin, MO, Pam Kopecki & husband Dennis, of Elm, TX; nephew, David Wayne McNair of Little Rock, AR; special friend, Jo Morris; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
Memorial services will be 2 pm, Sunday, October 17, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church, Poteau with Jim Perkin officiating.
