David Leon Phillips, 82, passed away on August 30, 2025, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. David was born on July 30, 1943, in Poteau, Oklahoma to parents George and Freda Bowen Phillips. David was a proud veteran of the United States Army and a heavy equipment operator for many years.
David was preceded in death by his son David Phillips Jr, his wife Connie Phillips, and his parents George and Freda Phillips.
David is survived by his sons Tommy Downing Jr and wife Cindy of Spiro, Oklahoma, Steven Phillips, and Greg Phillips, his sister Phyliss Bowman and husband Jim of Poteau, Oklahoma, along with other relatives, loved ones, and friends.
The Celebration of Life Services for David will be held privately by his family.
