David Wayne Allen, age 65 was born August 1, 1952 in Orange, Texas to James “Bully” Allen and Thelma Louise Lawrence Allen and left us on November 17, 2017 in Red Oak, Oklahoma.


He was the loving husband of Norma Allen and they shared 46 ½ years of marriage together.


He is survived by his wife Norma Allen of the home; two daughters and one son: Rena’ Brooks and husband Mason of Poteau, Trina Renfrow of Red Oak and husband Jeremy of Braggs and Bubba Allen and wife LaRissa of Red Oak; ten grandchildren: Chase, Austin, and Hallee Brooks of Poteau, Brendan, Dalton, and Lynsie Patten of Red Oak, Kinion Patten and wife Ashton of McCurtain, Cache Renfrow of Moore and Brayden and Landen Allen of Red Oak; and, one great-grandchild Novah Patten of McCurtain.


David was preceded in death by his father and step-mother Bully and Evelyn Allen; mother, Thelma Allen; Grandparents: Henry and Bill Allen and Jim and Jennie Lawrence; nephew, Tyler Duane Allen; step-brother, Thomas Murphy; Mother-in-law, Rosie Ratcliff and Father-in-law, Hubert Harris.


David loved huntin' at the cabin and runnin' a jug line for big ole catfish. He adored his grandchildren but we all knew his favorite was his wife’s dog, Missy. He had been known to share his ice cream with her and use the same spoon. He was a soft hearted teddy bear who would have given you the shirt off of his back.


The Funeral Service was held Monday, November 20, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Red Oak with Rev. Johnny Montgomery officiating. Interment followed at North Rock Creek Cemetery.


Pallbearers were: Chase Brooks, Brendan Patten, Dalton Patten, Austin Brooks, Brayden Allen, Landen Allen, Cache Renfrow, Mason Brooks, Jeremy Renfrow, Jason Allen.


Honorary Pallbearers were: Moe Hocutt, Johnny Townsend, Norman Harris, Bruce Harris and Gene Coffey.
