Dean Edward Young, 86 of Wister, Oklahoma was born on July 25, 1937 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Vivian Christine (Jones-Garner) and Daniel Dean Young and passed away on October 1, 2023 in Wister, Oklahoma.
Dean was married to Gloryann (Hankins) on December 1, 1957 in Oakdale, California. He was a proud Navy veteran, served as Mayor in Wister for 9 years, was on the Poteau Valley Water Board for 20 years, built and remodeled houses in Wister, and built and operated Wister Muffler Shop.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Dean Young and Vivian Young. He is survived by his wife, Gloryann Young; sister, Jacqueline King and husband Bill; brother Michael Young and wife Jeannie; sons Randall Young and wife Barbara; Keith Young; daughter Pamela Young; grandchildren, Eli Young, Kara Story, Daniel Young, Jessica Young, Tiffany Hyde, and Ashton Ward; and 13 great grandchildren.
A memorial service for Dean Young will be held 11:00 am October 21, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Wister, Oklahoma.
