Doris Mitchell entered into her eternal home on September 18, 2021 at the age of 96.
She was born July 8, 1925 in Mason County, Illinois. Doris loved reading, crossword puzzles, and scrabble. She traveled extensively with her husband as his work took them from Montana, Kansas, Oklahoma, Indiana, South America, Louisiana, Alaska, Colorado, and back to Oklahoma to retire.
She believed her children needed their dad so when dad was transferred she packed up the house, the children, and away they would go on another adventure and the unknown. Her passion was reading and she would always find the local library where ever she lived.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, E. Davis Mitchell; her sons, Frederick Mitchell, Davis Mitchell, and Terry Mitchell; great grandson, Jacob Freeman; parents, Floyd and Frances Fink; and two brothers, Joseph Fink and Walter Fink.
Doris is survived by two brothers, John Fink (Barbara) and Jim Fink; sister-in-law, Fran Fink; son, Terry Hubbard (Cathy); daughter, Gayla Freeman (Ray); daughters-in-law, Rhonda Mitchell, Sheila Mitchell; grandchildren, Freddy Mitchell, Holly Mitchell, Tara Hubbard, Steven Hubbard (Melissa), Craig Schermerhorn, Ryan Freeman (Laura), Dana Mitchell, Christine Kempf, Richard Beiler (Stephanie), Justin Freeman (Sara), Trina Warlick, Jason Padgett (Jennifer) Annissa Mitchell, Brandi Mitchell, Shelby Morroco (Tyler); great grandchildren Joshua Rhode, Kirsten Williams, Samantha Hubbard, Matthew Hubbard , Jeremy Hubbard, RyLea Freeman, Kaity Hobbs, Trayton Mitchell, Taylelan Freeman, Ashlan Freeman, Joshelin Cox, Emily Myers, Bishop Warlick, Asia Warlick, Laken Warlick, Dustin Padgett, Aaron Padgett, Ty Freeman, Ella Claire Freeman, Ember Carter Mitchell, Carley Jo Whatley, Ashtyn Morocco, Riggs Morocco, Alexandria Markley and Jessica Markley; great great grandchildren, Mason Hubbard, Jaxson Hubbard, Asra Cox Nora Rhode and Mykelti Warlick; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends.
A graveside memorial service will be held 2:00pm Thursday, September 30, 2021 at the Spiro City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro, Oklahoma.
