Graveside Service for Doyal Dean Akers, 77 of Wister, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 27, 2023 at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, Oklahoma with Hank Miller, Sam Walden officiating. Services are under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, Oklahoma.
Doyal was born on October 21, 1946 in Wister, Oklahoma to Ruth Anna (Keifer) Akers and Hillard Akers and passed away on October 21, 2023 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ronald Akers, and Glenn Akers; granddaughter, Erica Ladd; great grandson, Camdyn Ladd.
Survivors include his children, Deanna Akers- Meadors and husband Eric, Doyal Wayne Akers and wife Debbie, Russell Dean Akers and wife Susan, and Darrell Gene Akers; grandchildren, Ashton Dyer and Sam, Michael Grier, Taylor Cox and wife Stephanie, Alexis Brooks, Chase Ladd, Julia Ferrell and Kelby, Olivia Dickinson, Micahla Fetters, Darrin Akers, Nina Akers, Gavin Akers and wife Chelsea; great grandchildren, Bryleigh Dyer, Nataleigh Meadors, Allison Meadors, Harlee Williams, Brynlee Williams, James Cox, Ryker Cox, Gracie Cox, Chase Ladd, Callea Ladd, Hagen Ladd, Chaselyn Ladd, Easton Ferrell, Gracie Ferrell, Juno Maldonado, Zayn Taleco, Aydean Akers, and Lawson Akers; brothers, Lanny Akers and wife Sue, Don Akers and wife Rocky; 2 sister-in-laws, Barasa Akers, and Shirley Akers.
Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
