Earnest Leon Easter of Wister, Oklahoma was born November 16, 1932 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Earnest and Velma (Thompson) Easter and passed away surrounded by his family on November 28, 2025 in Spiro, Oklahoma at the age of 93.

 

He is survived by:

 

One son:

Emmett Easter of Amarillo, Texas

 

One brother:

Terry Easter of Sanger, Texas

 

Two grandchildren:

Renee Loomis of Wister, Oklahoma

Michael Bollinger of Amarillo, Texas

 

Five great-grandchildren:

Brandon Perry, Nathan Perry, Joseph Easter, Joshua Allender, and Chase Akin

 

16 great-great-grandchildren

 

Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a host of many friends

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Beverly Easter; two brothers, Larry and Olen Easter; two sisters, Ethel Swaim and Betty Bloomer; a great-grandson, Kaleb Easter.

 

Earnest was a longtime resident of the area and a welder. He loved fishing, playing dominoes, dancing, and hugs from all of his great-great-grands. Earnest enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed life to the fullest. He will be dearly missed by all whom loved and knew him. Earnest was a veteran where he served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

 

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 7, 2025 at the Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener, Oklahoma with Mr. Randy Mattox officiating with the military honors presented by Poteau DAV Chapter #63. Arrangements are under the care of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.

 

Pallbearers will be: Billy Gullick, Braxton Willoughby, Brentley Perry, and Raymond Perry

 

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Josh Allender, Chase Akin, Nathan Perry, and Brandon Perry

 

Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday. The family will have visitation with friends on Friday night from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
