Elaine (Benefield) Calhoun of Monroe, Oklahoma was born May 14, 1946 in San Diego, California to J.C. and Velma (Scantling) Benefield and passed away September 24, 2020 in Monroe, Oklahoma at the age of 74.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Velma Benefield; her twin brother, Allen “Cookie” Benefield and brother, Jackie Lynn Benefield; and a nephew, Aaron Benefield.
Elaine was a life-long resident of the area and a member of the Heavener First Baptist Church. She was a retired Dietician/Supervisor for Jim E. Hamilton Correctional Center and the Supervisor of the Heavener First Baptist Church Kitchen Crew. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Elaine will be missed by all that knew her.
Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Heavener First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Heavener, Oklahoma with Reverend Don Benefield and Brother Brock Hardin officiating. Burial will follow in Heavener Memorial Park under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be: Ron Pelanconi, Hank Stripling, Harold Sanders, Donnie Killion, Corry Duncan, and Steve Scantling

Viewing will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday and 8:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home. The family will be visiting with friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
