Funeral Service for Elizabeth “Betti” Jensen, 81 of Poteau, Oklahoma will be at 10:00am on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at The United Pentecostal Church in Poteau, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, Oklahoma under the direction of Grace Funeral Service of Poteau, Oklahoma.
Betti was born on September 11, 1941, in Yankton, South Dakota to Rosalie Frances (Borszich) Matuszewicz and Michael George Matuszewicz and passed away on March 20, 2023, in Pocola, Oklahoma. Betti was married to Larry Jensen on August 25, 1958 in Yankton, South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Larry Jensen; infant son, John Mark Jensen; three sisters, Rita Basham, Rose Marie Martin, Mary Ann Slotsve; and one brother, James Matuszewicz.
She graduated from Eastern Oklahoma State College with a degree in nursing. After years of devotion to her nursing career in both South Dakota and Arkansas, she retired in 2004.
Survivors include her sons, Jess Jensen and wife Cheryl, Jeff Jensen and wife Elaine; daughter, Jacqueline Jensen; grandchildren, Charli Lamb (Matt), Levi Jensen (Jordan), Sara Johnson (BJ), Jennifer Demas (Jordan), Rebecca Adams (Russell), JD Jensen (Jennifer), Vadrah Schlichting (James), Yasmine Montgomery (Kraig), Melissa Heath, David Huus (Heidi); great grandchildren, Braxton, Dawson, Asher, Arlo, Navy, Emma, Cate, Owen, Carolyn, Rosalie, Patrick, Sophia, Ashley, Riley, Lacey, Jack, and Callie. Also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be JD Jensen, Levi Jensen, Braxton Lamb, Dawson Lamb, Dan Martin, and Don Martin.
Viewing and Visitation: Wednesday, March 22, 2023, from 9am – 7 pm, with family greeting friends from 5pm-7pm at the funeral home.
