Ellen Brown of Springdale, Arkansas (formerly of the Haw Creek Community) was born May 31, 1945 in Casa Grande, Arizona to Fred and Emma (Ethridge) Williams and passed away August 5, 2023 in Springdale, Arkansas at the age of 78.

She is survived by:

One daughter:

Patricia Elsken of Springdale, Arkansas

Three grandchildren:

Kara Lasota of Springdale, Arkansas

Devin Brown of Hennessay, Oklahoma

Athena Farrell of Oklahoma

One brother:

Dean Williams and wife Diane of Ozark, Arkansas

Three great-grandchildren

Her life-long friends:

Connie and Larry May of Heavener, Oklahoma

Numerous other relatives and a host of friends

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ruby Williams; her husband, Thomas “Tink” Brown; a son, Edward “Eddie” Brown; several brothers and sisters; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Ellen was a homemaker and grew up in the Haw Creek Community. She loved to sew, fish, go to church socials, and cook. Ellen was a Christian and loved her family and her best friends, Connie and Larry May. She enjoyed traveling with her favorite place to travel was to Louisiana. Ellen thoroughly enjoyed Branson shopping. She was a member of the Victory Baptist Church and moved to Wister, Oklahoma in the early 90’s. Ellen will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener, Oklahoma with Brother Joey Bottoms officiating. Burial will follow in Ellis Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers will be: Corey Miller, Christopher Miller, Heath Williams, Keith Williams, Johnny Means, and Cody May.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Kara Lasota and Kelly Burns.

Viewing will be from 1:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., Monday at the funeral home. The family will have visitation with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
