Elton Odeas Kannady, age 79, of Arkoma, Oklahoma, passed away on January 5, 2025, in Arkoma, OK. He was born on May 26, 1945, in Fort Smith, AR to Myrtle (Clay) Kannady and Cecil Kannady. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Elton lived a life full of adventure, love, and laughter.
He was preceded in death by his father, the late Cecil Kannady and Mother, the late Myrtle Kannady; Sisters, Joyce Harris and Dovey Jenkins; and his Brother, Hilton Kannady. Elton was a passionate man who found joy in many hobbies, including hunting, fishing, prospecting, and treasure hunting.
Elton is survived by his wife, Annie Kannady; Brother Alan Kannady and wife Gayle; Sons Shannon Kannady and wife Bonnie; Sheldon Kannady and wife Joy; Stepdaughters; Lisann Revis and husband Ronnie; Crystal Waller and husband George. He was a proud grandfather to Justin Kannady and finance’ Cheyanne, Derrick Kannady and wife Britney; Dillan Kannady and wife Taylor; Brooklyn Kannady; Wesley Bourne and wife Kelsey.  Great-grandchildren; Koda Kannady, Westlynn Kannady, Kash Kannady, Carson Kannady, Tinley Kannady, Genna Kannady, Kayden Kannady and Kolson Kannady.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Evans Chapel of Memories in Pocola, Oklahoma, with Gaylan Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Pocola, Oklahoma.
Viewing and visitation with the family will take place on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Evans & Miller Funeral Home in Pocola, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be Justin Kannady, Derrick Kannady, Dillan Kannady, Alan Kannady II, Mark Harris, and Wesley Bourne.
Elton will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of kindness, adventure, and family will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
