Gary Lee Lamb, 69, of Shady Point, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, at his home. He was born on December 21, 1955, in Poteau, Oklahoma, to Wanda Faye (Painter) Lamb and Edwin William Lamb.
Gary had a deep love for life and the simple pleasures it offered. He was a man of quiet strength who found joy in the company of his family, the thrill of training racehorses, and the timeless stories of Gunsmoke. He often spoke of his dream to one day visit Las Vegas, a trip he had hoped to make. His heart was full when surrounded by those he loved, especially his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Wanda Lamb; his brother, Ronnie Lamb; and his stepson, Michael Akins.
Gary is survived by his daughter, Amanda Scott and her fiancé Sammy Donathan of Poteau; his son, Matt Lamb and wife Charli of Sallisaw; grandchildren, Ryan Scott and Alyssa Weaver, Braxton Lamb, Drew Scott, and Dawson Lamb; great-grandson, Jack Michael Scott; his significant other, Doneva Fout; and many other beloved family members, friends, and extended relatives who will miss him dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau, Oklahoma, with Steve Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Shady Point Cemetery in Shady Point, Oklahoma, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Matt Lamb, Sammy Donathan, Ryan Scott, Drew Scott, Braxton Lamb, and Dawson Lamb.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Howard Cagle, Jeff Cagle, and Robert James.
