Gladys Blocker Eaves, daughter of Willie Blocker and Frederica (Burris) Blocker, was born on July 21, 1927 in Fort Coffee, Oklahoma.
She was the sixth of seven children. Early in her life she accepted Christ with Church of God in Christ, she then married Wyman Triplett and to that union three children were born, Gladys Jean, Willis Ray, and Gloria Ann Triplett.
Later in life Gladys married Earnest J. Johnson to that union four children were born, Richard JD, Vernon O’Lene, Terry Wayne and Gary Don Johnson. Her last marriage was to Emmett J. Eaves who preceded her in death on September 17, 1981 and later in life three sons preceded her in death, Richard JD Johnson, Willis Ray Triplett, and Terry Wayne Johnson. She went home to be with Jesus, Tuesday, June 5, 2018.
She loved her family dearly, she worked at North Side High School for many years in her early days. She enjoyed cooking, and fishing. She loved attending church and living her life for God.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Gladys Jean Phillips of Roland, Oklahoma, Gloria Ann Colbert of Spiro, Oklahoma, Vernon O’Lene Phillips of Spiro, Oklahoma, and Gary Don Johnson of Spiro, Oklahoma, one daughter-in-law, Rezella Johnson of Hooks. Texas, 12 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 30 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Homecoming celebration for Gladys will be 12:00 pm Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Mt. Triumph Baptist Church in Fort Coffee, Oklahoma with Reverend Terish V. Phillips officiating.
Burial will follow at Fort Coffee Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Spiro, Oklahoma.
