Glenn Dale Mize was born on March 7, 1942, in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Ruey Lorene (Graham) Mize and Dale Mize. Glenn passed away on February 22, 2022 at the age of 79.
Glenn married Joan Wiegand on June 17, 1961 in Escondido, California. Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Mize; mother, Lorene Mize; father, Dale Mize and brother, Curtis Mize. He was a graduate of Poteau High School. He loved to collect Tonka trucks and watch westerns, especially John Wayne. Glenn was a Patrolman for Poteau; cattle rancher; and was the go to guy for the water department. Most of all he was a God-fearing man. Glenn and Joan were active members of Cross Community Church where Glenn went on several mission trips to Mexico.
Survivors include his sons, Glenn “Dale” Mize, Jr. and wife Paula, Steven James Mize and wife Margaret; daughter, Christi Grim and husband Brian; grandchildren, Macy Mize, Dalton Mize, Shelby Mize, Donya Hoffman, Nate Mize, Jillian Mize, Peyton Grim, Eli Grim, Justin Grim; great grandchildren, Josie Hoffman, Lincoln Hoffman; sister, Linda Hebert and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends and loved ones.
Viewing for Glenn will be held Saturday February 26, 2022 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm at Grace Funeral Service in Poteau, Oklahoma. Memorial Graveside Services will be held at a later date at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, Oklahoma under the direction of Grace Funeral Service in Poteau, Oklahoma.
