Haskell Burnett Moore of Woodward, Oklahoma was born October 11, 1926 in Hodgen, Oklahoma to Jack and Mae “Mead” Moore and passed from this life August 12, 2018 at home in Woodward, Oklahoma at the age of 91years, and 10 months.
Haskell was the only son and eldest child with 7 younger sisters.
Haskell (H.B. Moore) was a veteran of WWII serving in the occupation of Japan, after returning home, he attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University and while there he was instrumental in creating the Oklahoma State Drivers Handbook that is still in use to this day.
He spent over 60 year in the oil field business, starting as a rough-neck. He became a self taught engineer before modern technology. In 1964 he drilled the deepest well to be drilled at that time. He drilled all over Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas, while ending his career as a world renown Oil Field Consultant.
Haskell is better know for the type of person he was and the way he lived and loved life. He was a Doting husband, Proud father and grandfather, overprotective Brother, mischievous and entertaining Uncle and the most loyal of friend. No one could laugh louder or love deeper.
His Fun nature, thundering laugh, enormous smile and a personality as big as the life he lived allowed him to never meet a stranger. He was as quick, nimble and sound of mind at 91 as he was at 19 and was full of substance and vinegar to the very end.
