Helen Bernice (Williams) Wood of Heavener, Oklahoma was born December 2, 1935, in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Lonnie & Eathyl (Hamilton) Williams and passed away July 29, 2023, in Heavener, Oklahoma at the age of 87.
She is survived by:

Wendell & wife Sheri Williams of Sperry, Oklahoma
One sister-in-law:
Bonnie Williams of Reichert, Oklahoma
Several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and constant companion of 61 years Fomba L.B. Wood, one infant daughter, her parents Lonnie & Eathyl Williams, two sisters Evayleen (Williams) Wirth and Elzetta (Williams) Cox, three brothers Arvle Williams, CL Williams, and Lonnie Ray Williams.
Helen mostly grew up in Reichert, Oklahoma and was a 1953 graduate of LeFlore High School. In 1958, Helen married the love of her life Fomba L.B. Wood and settled in Dallas, Texas. Helen worked for a number of years for White Motor Corporation in Dallas. In1983, Helen and her husband “Woody” started their own business, becoming the owners and operators of the successful Woody’s Custom Canvas in Dallas, Texas, until selling and retiring from the business in 1997. In 2004, they moved to Poteau, Oklahoma, to be closer to family.
Helen was a woman who carried herself with class and elegance and will be remembered by those who knew her for her timeless beauty, style, and kindness of heart.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Reichert Cemetery. Burial will follow under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
Her pallbearers will be: Lonnie W. Williams, Jody Williams, Wesley Williams, Cecil Williams, Barry Williams, and J.W. Williams.
Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
