Ida Jane (Fields) Ramsey recently of Thayer, Kansas, previously Muse, Oklahoma resident was born August 24, 1937 in LeFlore County, Township: Muse, Village: Big Cedar to Samuel Lee and Essie (Duvall) Fields and went to be with our Lord and Savior on June 9, 2023.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Earl Ramsey; brothers, J.L. Fields, J.T. Fields, George Fields, Hershel Fields, and Wayne Fields.
She is survived by Connie Spiva and husband Keith of Spiro, Oklahoma; Rhonda Seibel and husband Tim of Thayer, Kansas; Kenny Ramsey and wife Ginny of Heavener, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and many other extended family and loved ones.
The majority of her life she lived at Muse, Oklahoma, where she graduated as Valedictorian in 1955. She went on to attend one year at Midwest Christian College before marrying Kenneth Ramsey. She enjoyed her time working at the Talihina Manor Nursing Home before working at the Talihina Veteran Center where she retired from. She enjoyed a short stint at her post-retirement job as a US Postal worker in Muse, Oklahoma. Ida moved to Thayer, Kansas in 2015 and became a member of the Thayer Christian Church.
She loved to hunt, fish, play basketball, cook for family, cheer for Duke and OKC Thunder, spend time with grandchildren & great grandchildren, reading, crocheting, traveling, a good yard sale, camping, Elvis music, playing piano, and singing hymns, playing Rook with family, her dogs Precious and Bandit.
Pallbearers will be: Bill Spiva, Jon Spiva, Michael Spiva, David Seibel, Caleb Seibel and Kolby Morrison.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Samantha Heil, Josh Ramsey, Denton Mead, Johnny Elrod, Jessica Robinson, Amanda Eilers, Conner Luce, Logan Robinson, Jack Robinson, Harley Robinson, Darbey Robinson, and Marcey Robinson.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Christ Church in Lenox with Tim Seibel, Kolby Morrison, David Seibel, and Steven Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow in Muse cemetery under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
Viewing will be Noon to 6:00 p.m., Thursday and 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday.
