Ira Wayne Vinson of Spiro, Oklahoma was born February 22, 1959 in Poteau, Oklahoma to Elza and Betty (Oliver) Vinson and passed away October 2, 2019 in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the age of 60.

Donna (Vinson) Maness of Fort Smith, Arkansas
Connie (Vinson) Glasco of Howe, Oklahoma
Seven grandsons:
Jace, Jayden, Jax, Ashton, Logan, Zaden and Hudson
Numerous other relatives and a host of friends
Ira was preceded in death by his parents. He was a life-long resident of the area.
Ira graduated from Panama High School in 1977, where he was involved in all sports and an active member of the FFA. He worked for the total of 42 years for the Rock Island and the K.C.S. Railroad.
He was a member of the Brotherhood Maintenance of Way of Engineer Union, United Transportation Union and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineer Union. Ira loved drag racing and was a member of the NHRA Association. He loved spending time with his family and friends and will be missed by all.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the Springhill Baptist Church in Howe, Oklahoma with his cousin David Davis, Reverend Keith Stewart and Reverend Larry Stacy officiating.
Interment will follow in Howe Cemetery in Howe, Oklahoma under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be:
Steve Newcomer, Mark Dunaway, Norman Willhite, David Ford, Rick Ford, and Lyndell Stewart
Honorary pallbearers will be:
His grandsons: Jace, Jayden, Jax, Ashton, Logan, Zaden and Hudson, and his KCS Railroad and racing buddies
Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, and 9:00 a.m., until noon, Saturday.
The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
