Jackie Glen “Jack” Fox, 89, of Sapulpa, went to be with the Lord on November 11, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Jack was born on November 29, 1935, in Williams, Oklahoma, to Orbie and Audie (Ferguson) Fox. He graduated from Cameron High School and earned his associate’s degree from Poteau Community College, followed by both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Northeastern State University.

In 1963, Jack moved to Sapulpa to serve as an art teacher, and soon found himself stepping in as the junior varsity baseball coach. The following year, when the varsity coach retired, Jack moved into that role—a position he embraced with energy, skill, and deep dedication. Jack himself played ball until he was 40 and loved every minute of it. Throughout his coaching career, he mentored countless young baseball players, and those “baseball boys” remained a special and meaningful part of his life for decades.

In 1974, Jack began what became one of the most memorable chapters of his life when he joined KVOO as a radio DJ. He remained there for 26 years, becoming a familiar and trusted voice for listeners across the region.

Jack lived a full and varied life, having worked as a chef, steel building salesman, teacher, and radio host. He married Helen earlier in life, and together they shared one son, Mike. In 1981, Jack married the love of his life, Darla, and together they celebrated 44 years of marriage.

Growing up, Jack and his family spent much of their time singing together in a quartet—an early foundation for his love of music, performing, and people. He was involved in countless activities throughout his life. He loved sports, attended as many baseball and basketball games as he could, served as president of the Mustang Club, enjoyed hunting, and stayed active in every community he was part of.

Jack is survived by his wife, Darla; and his children, Mike Fox; Bo and Shelly Rentz; and Kim Sanders and Mike.

His grandchildren include Trey Rentz; Mikey and Haley Morgan; Geoffrey and Jessica Freeman; Amber Sanders and Garrett ; Trevor and Emily McNett; Ryan Sanders and Jade; and Christina Sanders.

His great-grandchildren include Penny Rentz; Isaac and Ella Morgan; Jane and Lola Freeman; Justyce Crow and Hunter Sanders; Brooklynn, Jett, and Maxx McNett; Logan and Paisley Sanders; and Camber Duncan.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Reba, Ruth, Bill, and Bob and grandson Josh Sanders.

He is also survived by a host of other friends and relatives who will miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 14, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Sapulpa.

Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services, 35 S. Main, Kellyville, Oklahoma.
