It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Jacob Kendrick, who left us far too soon at the age of 28 on July 25, 2025. Born on July 24, 1997, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Jacob was a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew him. With a kind heart, a sharp sense of humor, and fierce strength, he made a lasting impact on family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Jacob loved the outdoors and would be in his kayak fishing or swimming every chance he got. He was always very active and on the go. But he would also take every chance to slow down and spend time with his family that he loved so much.

Jacob was preceded in death by his father Sheldon Hutton.

Jacob is survived by his mother Heather Slater of Howe, Oklahoma, his grandmothers Judy Slater of Wister, Oklahoma and Doris Heflin of Wister, Oklahoma, his sisters Rachel Saulter and husband Luke of Pocola, Oklahoma, Audrey Elder and husband Michael of Bokoshe, Oklahoma, and Jennifer Harrison and husband Jeremy of Calhoun, Oklahoma, his nephews Noah Saulter, Owen Saulter, and Leo Saulter, and nieces Jazzlyn Harrison, Jolie Harrison, and Olivia Elder, his father Danny Kendrick of Boles, Arkansas, his sister Rainy Kendrick of Boles, Arkansas, and his brother Christian Kendrick of Boles, Arkansas, along with many other relatives and friends.

The Celebration of Life Services for Jacob will be held 4pm – Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at The Cedars on Dewey 520 Dewey Ave Poteau, Oklahoma with TJ Holt and family officiating. The Family of Jacob Kendrick will greet friends at the conclusion of his service in The Cedars on Dewey as well. All are invited to attend and share as we come together to reflect upon Jacob’s life.
