He was preceded in death by his parents, James Edward and Mona Barnes.
James was a longtime resident of the area and a 1968 graduate of Heavener High School. He worked in photo finishing.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
