Janette Faye Nixon was born on May 22, 1960, in Poteau, Oklahoma, to Norene Teney (Sult) Fetters and Fred James Fetters. She passed away on October 1, 2026, in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Faye married Willie Nixon on May 28, 1977, in Keota, Oklahoma. Together, they shared many years of marriage, building a life centered around family and the people they loved.

Faye had a strong love for church and enjoyed using her hands to create beautiful things. Arts and crafts brought her much happiness, but quilting held a special place in her heart. Each piece she made reflected the patience, care, and love she put into everything she did.

She especially treasured the trips she took with her sisters. Those times together brought plenty of laughter, memories, and stories that will continue to be cherished.

Of all the titles Faye held throughout her life, one of her favorites was “Nana.” She dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. Her family was a tremendous source of joy and pride, and the love she had for them was evident in everything she did. Her family will remember her loving heart, her faith, her creativity, and the many special memories they were blessed to share with her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred James and Norene Teney Fetters; brothers, Tommy Fetters and Ray Fetters; and sister, Dortha Youngblood.

Those left to cherish Faye’s memory include her husband, Willie Nixon; son, Kevin Nixon and wife Teresa; sisters, Mae Fetters and Nancy McSperitt and husband Larry; brothers, James Fetters and wife Brenda, Billy Fetters and wife Janie, and Jim Fetters and wife Brenda; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; along with numerous other relatives and loved ones.
