Janice D. “Nana” Copher was born on January 24, 1949 in Wellington, Kansas to Vernon and Helen (Wade) LaFever and passed away on August 16, 2019 in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the age of 70 years old.

Nana Copher is survived by her husband, Paul Copher, three daughters, Tina Topinka, Paula Green and husband Mick, and Christal Benton and husband Elton, seven grandchildren, Cylie, Kristina, Cooper, Ivy, Zoie, Jessica, and Jacob, six great grandchildren, Jayden, Jason Jr, Jett, Ryker, Jaylie, and Brody, one sister Anita Cooney, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Helen LaFever and her son, Nathan Yoder.

Nana worked for Boeing Aircraft and Rheme Manufacturing before retiring. She enjoyed crocheting, baking and decorating cakes, sewing, working outside in the yard, dancing and camping with her husband, Paul, but her favorite hobby was loving her children and grandchildren and watching them grow up.

Viewing hours will be 9am-7pm Monday, August 19th with the family visiting with friends from 5pm-7pm Monday at the Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro, Oklahoma.


The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
