Jim was born on July 3, 1937, in Spiro, Oklahoma, to Lela Irene (Clark) Wooten and Ernie Lee Wooten. He passed away on September 1, 2026, in Spiro, Oklahoma.

On September 27, 1958, Jim married the love of his life, Ola Lee (Woods) Wooten, in Stigler, Oklahoma. Together, they shared more than 67 years of marriage and built a life centered around family, hard work, and devotion to one another. Jim faithfully cared for Ola, remaining by her side until her passing on February 26, 2026.

Jim was a hardworking man throughout his life. He retired from Baldor Electric after 33 years of dedicated service. While he knew the value of a hard day’s work, Jim also knew how to have fun. He was a jokester who enjoyed making people laugh and was known for making up his own songs—and if he didn’t know all the words, he simply added a few of his own.

In his younger years, Jim enjoyed fishing and shooting bows. Above all else, however, his greatest joy was his family. He dearly loved his children, but his grandchildren and great-grandchildren truly put a sparkle in his eye. The love he had for his family was evident throughout his life, and the memories, laughter, and love he shared with them will continue to be treasured.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Ola Lee Wooten; his parents, Lela Irene and Ernie Lee Wooten; sister, Mary Trotter; and brothers, Ernie Gene Wooten and Roy Wooten.

Survivors include his daughter, Susie Eatmon and husband Dixon; son, Donald Wooten and wife Renee; grandchildren, Tyler McLaughlin and wife Brittany, Sarah Ralls and husband Jeffery, Jesse Wooten and wife Marlee, Justin Killebrew and wife Ariel, Alisha Killebrew, Tory Eatmon and wife Shelby, Malachi Eatmon and wife Kayla, Trey Eatmon, and Neto Silva and wife Tabitha; great-grandchildren, Addalyn, Allie, Hayes, Barry, Olivia, Tyler, Jace, Kynzie, Mekhi, Kaylee, Kira, Rheagan, Brielle, Rustyn, Harley, and Nick; brothers, Carl Wooten and wife Debbie and Billy Joe Wooten and wife Carolyn; along with numerous other relatives and loved ones.

Pallbearers will be Tyler McLaughlin, Jeff Ralls, Dixon Eatmon, Trey Eatmon, Malachi Eatmon, and Neto Silva.
