ODell was born on January 10, 1935, in Shady Point, Oklahoma, to Leo Gertruide Clark (Neal) and Toney Clark. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, JoElla Clark; and his brothers, Royce and Neal Clark.
ODell owned and operated Odell’s Transmissions for over 40 years after relocating to Spiro from Odessa, Texas, in 1969. A lifelong automotive enthusiast, he enjoyed building race cars and classic cars, helping others achieve their automotive dreams. Though he spent a brief period racing on dirt tracks, his true joy came from building transmissions and sharing his passion for vehicles with others.
Beyond his work, ODell and his beloved wife, JoElla, loved traveling the country in their camper, exploring new places, and visiting friends and family—often without revealing their destination to their children until they returned home.
ODell was a devout man of God and served as a deacon at the Panama Church of Christ and later became an active member of the Spiro Church of Christ. He cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who held a special place in his heart.
He is survived by his daughter, Teri Wyatt (Scott); sons, Larry Clark (Alma) and Ronny Clark (Kathey); grandchildren, Ryan Clark (Shannel), Katelyn Clark Pettee (Cory), Sara Bunnell (Beau), Mia Clark, and Daniel Wyatt; his sister, Linda Scott; seven great-grandchildren; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
ODell’s legacy is one of faith, family, and service to others, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
