Jimmy graduated high school in Spencer, Oklahoma and shortly after graduation entered the US Air Force on April 9, 1968 during the Vietnam War. After completing military training, Jimmy was stationed at Da Nang, VC Air Base. Honorable discharged on December 10, 1970; he returned to Oklahoma City and attended OU to receive his degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked at Motorola in the space satellites program. His hobbies included horseshoes, cards, corn hole, golf, and was an avid bowler, scoring several perfect 300 games. Jimmy spent most of his adult life in Chandler, Arizona moving to Mineral Wells, Texas in 2022 to be close to family.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by two brothers Danny Charles (Diana) of Houston, Texas and Billy Joe (Margaret) of Mineral Wells, Texas; and one sister Gayla Ann (Jack) of Nashville, Arkansas as well as many loving nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Jimmy’s wish was for his cremains to be scattered at the Heavener Runestone. This will be 10 a.m., Saturday, August 22, 2026 at the Heavener Runestone Park in Heavener, Oklahoma.
