Funeral Service for Jimmy Vernon Stroud, 84 of Keota, Oklahoma will be at 2:00pm on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Unity Baptist Church in Keota, Oklahoma with Reverend Tommie Parker and Reverend Scott Welch. officiating. Burial will follow at Milton Cemetery in Milton, Oklahoma under the direction of Grace Funeral Service of Poteau, Oklahoma.
He was born on March 4, 1939 in Walls, Oklahoma to Melissa (Nixon) Stroud and Zuil Stroud and passed away on April 19, 2023 in Keota, Oklahoma. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Barbara Stroud; brother, J.E. Stroud and sister, Jewel Pickle.
Survivors include his sons, Wes Stroud, Brad Stroud; grandchildren, Michelle Carter (David), Stephanie Stroud, Melissa Stroud, Lynsey Stroud, Megan Stroud, Steven Ivy (Clarissa), Tori Johnson, Haden Stroud (Makaela); great grandchildren, Cooper Stroud, Brady Stroud, Vyker Stroud, Zaya Crase, Bentley Stroud, Chance Carter, Zach Carter, Jaylynn Goss, Paisley Ivy; brother, Billy Stroud; sisters, Leta Hollie, Peggy Caldwell, Debbie Bryant, brothers-in-law, DeWayne Basham, and Bill Lafferty, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Wes Stroud, Brad Stroud, Haden Stroud, Steven Ivy, Kerry Hollie, II, and Ross Abernathy.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Kenny Short, Billy Stroud, Richard Hoffman, Terry Stroud, Tommy Caldwell, and Cooper Stroud.
Viewing and Visitation Monday, April 24, 2023 from 9am – 8pm with family greeting friends from 6pm – 8pm at the funeral home.
