Joan Marie Morrison, 67, of Spiro, OK passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018, at her home. Joan was born April 22, 1950, in Wellington, TX to John & Freda (Davis) Pierce.


Joan was a fighter for life. She had a long battle with cancer; she fought with all she had until she just became too tired.


Now she is in a place of no pain and all the love and hugs she deserves.


She was so full of love for everyone she met. She loved her family with all of her heart. She loved her job at the Spiro Nursing Home where she spent most of her life, almost 40 years. She loved her residents there. Joan held several positions; the few years being the activity director which she was great at.


She had a bright and caring personality that shined through. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of know her. Heaven has truly gained a golden angel.


Joan was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Thomas Morrison.


Survivors include her daughter, Jeanna Mann & husband David of Bokoshe, OK; sons, Hurshell Morrison & wife Tammy of Houston, TX, Rickey Morrison of Ft. Smith, AR; grandchildren, Punky Osburn Morrison, Jimmy & Tara Smith, Kayble Morrison, Shelby Morrison, Kasey Morrison, Kole Morrison; great grandchildren, Travis, Keaton, Kayden, Tucker, Cage, Paige & Anaiyah; sister, Phyllis Wiggs & husband Terry; other relatives, loved ones and friends.


Services will be 2 pm, Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at Calvary Church in Spiro, OK with Rev. Eddie Blankenship officiating.


Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery, Spiro, OK. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Smith, Kayble Morrison, Kole Morrison, Johnny Padgett, Gary Gentry & David Mann.


The family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives and friends.
