Kelly Edward Singleterry of Poteau, Oklahoma was born November 4, 1959 in Durant, Oklahoma to C.E. “Doc” and Bobbie (Adams) Singleterry and passed away January 9, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 61.

Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a host of many friends

He was preceded in death by his parents, C.E. “Doc” and Bobbie (Adams) Singleterry; his grandparents, Jack and Pearl Adams and Clifton and Nettie Singleterry; and a niece, Shayna Kirkland.

Kelly was a Child Welfare Specialist for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, where he worked for over five years. Before then, he was an educator, where he started his teaching career in Modesto, California. Later he taught at LeFlore Public Schools for 31 years before retiring. He loved watching kid’s play ball, spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed life to the fullest. Kelly was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all whom loved and knew him.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 15, 2021 at the Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener, Oklahoma with Brother Tracy Loyd officiating. Burial will follow in Summerfield Cemetery arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers will be: Chris Garland, Benny Gullick, Tracy Martin, Eric Garrett, Caleb Smith, and Justin White.

Viewing will be from noon until 6:00 p.m., Tuesday; 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., Wednesday; 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday; 9:00 a.m. until service time, Friday at the funeral home.
