Larry P. Herrington, of Poteau, Oklahoma—known by many as “Hoss”—passed away on March 27, 2026, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, at the age of 80.

Larry was born on January 1, 1946, in Modesto, California, to Raymond and Ruby (Collins) Herrington. He dedicated 30 years of his life working as a herdsman for Foster Farms in Hickman, California, before retiring and relocating with his family to Poteau, Oklahoma.

Larry was a devoted father to Brandon and Brittanii and proudly held the title of “favorite uncle” to many of his nieces and nephews. He was like a second father to nephew Dale Smith.

He was known for his strong work ethic, love for family, and the lasting impact he made on those around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Sandy Herrington and Linda Beezley; and his nephews, Jeff Herrington and Kenny Herrington.

Larry is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 48 years, Vicki Herrington of the home; his children, Brandon Herrington and Brittanii Herrington; his sister, Kathy Turner; and his nieces and nephews, including Traci Hermoso and husband Neil, Teresa Albertoni and husband Larry, Dale Beezley, James Turner, and John Turner. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Debi Smith, Lori Groening, and Kimi Miner, along with a host of extended family members and dear friends.
