Larry Ray Parker of the Haw Creek Community was born July 5, 1949 in Hanford, California to Luther Ray and Betty (Higgins) Parker and passed away on April 2, 2018 in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the age of 68.

He is survived by:


His wife of 49 years, 6 months, and 23 days:
Sharon of the home

Four daughters:
Nancy Parker of the home
Jennifer Rye and husband Joe of Van Buren, Arkansas
Rochelle White and husband Monroe of Hunington, Arkansas
Lisa Broussard and husband Glen of Waldron, Arkansas

One son:
David Parker and wife Kristin of Genoa, Arkansas

One sister:
Eileen York of Shirley, Arkansas

One nephew:
Michael York and wife Paula of Shirley, Arkansas

16 grandchildren:
Cody Rye, Myranda Rye, Bryon White, Christian White, Dante White, William White, John White, Rachel Broussard, Lessin and Aryn Broussard, Marcus Broussard, Stephen Broussard, Kayla Parker, Kandace and Roy Meisinger, Kody Parker, Kory Parker, and Kaden Parker

He is preceded in death by his parents. Larry was a life-long resident of the area and a carpenter. He was a member of the Big Creek Baptist Church where he also served as a Deacon. Larry enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by many whom loved and knew him. Larry was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandpa, great-grandpa, and friend.


Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Big Creek Baptist Church with Reverend John Mark Little and Reverend James Collins officiating.


Burial will follow in Blackfork Cemetery under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.


Pallbearers will be: Family


Honorary Pallbearers will be: Big Creek Baptist Church Deacons


Viewing will begin at noon until 8:30 p.m., Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. until noon, Thursday at the funeral home.


The family will greet with friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
