Lester Burton “Burk” Bandy of Heavener, Oklahoma was born May 17, 1954 in Howe, Oklahoma to Ted Franklin and Bessie L. (Parker) Bandy and passed away May 7, 2017 in Heavener, Oklahoma at the age of 62.
He is survived by:

Annetta Harris and husband Harley of Blackshear, Georgia
Mary Ellen Sampson of Moore, Oklahoma

Cleave Bandy and wife Cathy of Haw Creek Community
Bobby Bandy and wife Brenda of Moore, Oklahoma
Two sisters-in-law:
Mary Beth Bandy of Heavener, Oklahoma
June Bandy of Poteau, Oklahoma
Two grandchildren:
Lydia Shupert and Marcus Bandy
Two step-grandchildren:
Olivia Mashburn and Autumn Mashburn
Four nieces, nine nephews, numerous cousins, and a host of many friends
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Darius Gene Bandy and Theron Frank Bandy; and one sister, May Della Swing.
Burk was a 1972 graduate of Howe High School and attended Okmulgee Tech.
He lived in Oklahoma City for half of his life before returning home in his later years.
Burk worked as a general laborer in the maintenance field and loved to tinker and work on small machines. He attended the Heavener Pentecostal Church of God.
Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Dowden- Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Sonya Nix officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be: The Howe High School class of 1972 and Burk’s bingo friends at the Heavener VFW Post # 8403.
Preceding the memorial service, there will be a fellowship lunch at Noon, at the Heavener Pentecostal Church of God, 101 Division Street. All are welcome.
Cremation arrangements are made under the direction of Dowden- Roberts Funeral Home Heavener, Oklahoma.
