Loretta Jean Urchison was born June 16, 1934 in Stigler, Oklahoma during the Great Depression. She was preceded in death by her Parents; Gloe and Odis Blair, Brothers, James Ray, Dean, Earl, Leroy, Kenny; husband J.W. Urchison, and beloved daughter, Karen Sue.

She is survived by her son; Ronnie and wife Patricia of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, dearly loved niece/daughter; Robin Deann of Perdido Key, Florida, sisters; Debbie Walls of Panama, Sharon Kay Smith of Ardmore, Oklahoma, brother; Rick Blair of Niles, Michigan, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Loretta loved every one of them.

Loretta grew up in the Latham/Shady Point area and played basketball for Shady Point. She was born a caregiver. In the late 1940’s she cared for her little brother, James Ray who had Leukemia. In the early 1950’s she cared for her brother, Dean who contracted polio. On July 11, 1953 she married John William Urchison of Monroe, Oklahoma and in July 1955 Ronnie was born. In July 1959 Karen Sue was born. For the next 35 years Loretta’s life was devoted to the love and care of Karen who was born with severe spina bifida. The days and years were full of happiness and wonderment at how someone so frail could teach us so much about love and innocence. Karen passed away September 27, 1994. Between bouts of caregiving, Loretta worked in retail for many years and retired from J.C. Penny’s.

A few years after Karen passed, Loretta was back in the caregiver role, while husband J.W. fought a 5 year battle with cancer. He passed on November 27, 2007. After that she was welcomed into Ronnie and Pat’s home for the last 15 years.

She had two painful surgeries in 2009 which she recovered from with the help of Pat, Robin, and Ron. Then she was back to caregiver when Ron had multiple surgeries.

When diagnosed with heart problems and dementia the caregiver was now being cared for by Ron, Pat and a lot of long distance calls to Robin. After a two year fight she passed from this life on February 6, 2022.
