Louis was born on October 20, 1942, in Poteau, Oklahoma, to Ona (Beshears) Holstead and Othor William Holstead.
Louis proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. Following his military service, he built a long and fulfilling career as an electronics technician for various companies and as a television repairman in LeFlore County. He was known for his strong work ethic and his ability to fix just about anything.
In his spare time, Louis enjoyed watching old westerns, gardening, and taking on DIY home projects and repairs. He found joy in working with his hands and took pride in caring for his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Grace AnnaLee Holstead; and other beloved friends and family.
Survivors include his son, Louis Holstead II and wife Mandy of Hastings, Oklahoma; one grandson, Hunter Holstead of Edmond, Oklahoma; and one granddaughter, Hayley Holstead of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Memorial Service for Louis William Holstead, 83 of Fort Smith, Arkansas will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau, Oklahoma with Phil McGehee officiating.
