Funeral Service for Luther Daniel (LD) Williams, 92 of Cameron, Oklahoma will be at 2:00PM on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau, Oklahoma with Pastor Daniel Reid officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery in Cameron, Oklahoma under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, Oklahoma.
LD was born on February 25, 1932 in Cameron, Oklahoma to Minnie Colley and Clarence Williams and walked into his wife’s arms and into the presence of the Lord on May 7, 2024 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
LD leaves behind two daughters, Norma and husband Roy Hendershot of Poteau, Oklahoma, and Sherri Williams of Cameron, Oklahoma; One granddaughter, Michelle and husband Dewayne Freeman of Alma, Arkansas; six grandsons, Michael Fox and wife Stephanie of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kyle James and wife Shelby, Cameron, Oklahoma, Devin James and wife Kendall, of Winter Haven, Florida, Jarod Sole of Killeen, Texas, Hunter Sole and wife Drucille of Bokoshe, Oklahoma; Great granddaughters, Andrea Lopez and partner Makayla Enochs, Remington Fox, Carleigh, Alexis, and Ava James; Great-grandsons Britain Cowens and wife Madison, Dakota Cowens and wife Sierra, Gavin Fox and fiancé Andra, Landon Fox, Waylon James, Dean and Salem James, Lee Sole; Great great granddaughter, Brynn Cowens.
LD was preceded in death by his loving wife Christine Williams of 50 years; grandsons, Skylar Wallis, Jamie and Jason Fox; numerous brothers and sisters. LD loved his family more than life itself. He enjoyed catching up with friends and family and always wanted to be busy doing something, including the casino. His dogs, Rover and Spot, were his faithful friends and loved sitting in his lap. He was always looking to find a bargain and resale it to put extra money in his pocket. LD worked for Planter’s Peanuts for over 30 years before retiring.
Pallbearers will be his Grandsons and Great Grandsons.
Visitation will be Friday from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
