Margaret Lee (Whitfield) Phillips, who departed this life of February 26, 2020, loved her family, nutrition, and the Lord, and could easily spend hours telling anyone who wanted to know about the importance of all three in her life. She also loved her community. Though she spent more than half of her life in California, she was a self-professed "Oklahoma Girl."

Born in Spiro, Oklahoma, on March 27, 1952, Margaret was the daughter of Ruth Evelyn Jones and Grover C. Whitfield. She graduated from Spiro High School in 1970, and attended Carl Albert State College. It was during this time that she met and later married Charles Phillips. To this union, one child was born. She received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She formerly worked for the University of Southern California, U.S. Naval Reserves, and had been currently employed by Pasadena Beauty Supply.

Margaret leaves a legacy of being helpful. She created a circle of friends from California to Oklahoma, including her City of Refuge Church family in Los Angeles.

She leaves to cherish her memories a son, Jevon Phillips of Pasadena, California, a daughter Talara Phillips of Rowland Heights California, five brothers; Kenneth Mumphrey, Maverick Mumphrey, and Castle (Tina) Mumphrey of Spiro, Oklahoma, Edward Earl Whitfield of California, Cody Foreman of Durant, Oklahoma, two sisters; Joyce (Carl) Outley of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Penny (Eric) Smith of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and an Aunt, Altus Bea Ezell of Haworth, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Glenda Whitfield, and brother, Roy Whitfield.
