Celebration of Life for Margaret Remer, 84 of Keota, Oklahoma will be at 5:00pm on Friday, January 6, 2023 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau, Oklahoma. Cremation is under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, Oklahoma.
Margaret was born on April 23, 1938 in Limestone Gap, Oklahoma to Janice (Capshaw) Shields and James Shields and passed away on December 29, 2022 in Keota, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leon Remer; father-in-law, Fred Remer; sister-in-law, Edwina; grandmother, Ida Capshaw; grandfather, Henry Capshaw; one sister, Shelia Lynn; three brothers, Henry Loyd, James Curtis, and Francis. Margaret loved gardening and baking and spending time with her family. She loved her kids, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Margaret was an OU Sooner fan. She enjoyed hallmark movies, and watching Dr. Stanly at Sunday morning breakfast with her son-in-law Keith. Margaret was a retired bookkeeper/secretary. She loved antiques, especially antique dishes. She enjoyed spending time with her dog Harlee. Margaret was a mother to everyone and had many special lifelong “kids”. Margaret loved Jesus and was always praying for everyone.
Survivors include her daughter, Tannyia Crase and husband Keith; two sons, Glen Powers and wife Shelly, and Ricky Powers; sister, Naomi Laverne Herman; two brothers, Dennis Shields, Roger Shields and wife Cindy; grandchildren, Brittni Brand and husband Kyle; Bradlee Chronister, Mandi Harris and husband Aaron, Dustin Powers and wife Daphne, Clayton powers and wife Tia, Allen Arter, Lacy Reed and husband Vincent, and Amber Smith; great grandchildren, Walker, Lilly, Daisy, Izzy, Rain, Skyler, India, Avaline, Desirae, Conner, Hayden, Lakelynn, Mikiah, and Talon; several special nieces, and nephews, other relatives, and loved ones.
