Margie Cleo Copeland of Heavener, Oklahoma was born November 1, 1926 in Heavener, Oklahoma to Alex and Claudia (Johnston) Freeman and passed away January 15, 2017 in Poteau, Oklahoma at the age of 90.

 

She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Copeland-Schrodt; two sons, John Mark Copeland and James Vernon Copeland; three granddaughters, Tamma Lynn Copeland, Amy Lynn Copeland and Jillian Samantha Copeland; three grandsons, James Everett Copeland, Christopher Michael Copeland and Jack Alexander Copeland; several great grandchildren; one sister, Jeanne Ellen (Freeman) Warren; one niece, Susan Demott-Baker; several great nieces and nephews; two dear friends, Juanita and Elizabeth

 

Margie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vernon Copeland: a son, Michael Copeland and her brother, Charles Freeman. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Heavener, Oklahoma, and was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Vista Nursing Home in Heavener, Oklahoma, and an L.P.N Community Health Representative for the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma in Leflore County until retirement.

 

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 18, 2017 in the Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Marshall Faulkenberry, Jr. and Brother Truman Hill officiating. Burial will be at Howe Cemetery under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.

 

Pall Bearers will be: Jimmy Simmons, Johnny Johnston, Truman Hill, Jerry Gilliam, Marshall Faulkenberry, Johnny Newcomer.
