Graveside Service for Marion Dean Kates, 75 of Bokoshe, Oklahoma will be at 2:00pm on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Old Bokoshe Pavilion in Bokoshe, Oklahoma with Reverend Dale Wendlandt officiating. Burial will follow at Old Bokoshe Cemetery in Bokoshe, Oklahoma under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Spiro, Oklahoma.
He was born on December 30, 1946 in Stigler, Oklahoma to Wilma Louise (Robinson) Kates and Richard Ray Kates and passed away on October 11, 2022 in Bokoshe, Oklahoma. Marion was married to Lucinda Alice (Eastham) Kates on July 4, 1989 in Bokoshe, Oklahoma. . He was preceded in death by his parents. Marion was a United States Army Veteran, member of the VFW and American Legion. He loved to hunt and fish.
Survivors include his wife, Lucinda Kates; daughter, Catherine Erwin; son, Douglas Kates and wife Jennifer; brothers, Henry Kates and wife Nelda, Glen Kates and wife Patsy; grandchildren, Tara, Lucas, Sara; six great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Cody Owens, James Mandrell, Jack Hayes, Mickey Preston, Paul Marsh, and Logan.
Viewing and Visitation will be Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 1:00pm – 7:00pm at the funeral home.
